Our Story – From the Road to Phin Coffee

Before Phin Coffee Hoi An existed, our life was shaped by travel.

For many years, we worked as tour leaders across Indochina for an international travel company, guiding guests through Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Day after day, we were responsible not just for logistics, but for creating meaningful experiences — helping travelers understand local culture, food, people, and daily life beyond the surface.

Those years on the road became our real education in hospitality.
Welcoming guests from all over the world broadened our global perspective, while working closely with local communities taught us the value of authenticity, care, and human connection.

Where Coffee Entered the Story

During these journeys, coffee was always part of the experience.

We spent time in small local cafés, roadside stalls, family kitchens, and coffee farms. We met passionate coffee shop owners, roasters, and farmers who shared their stories — about beans, origins, roasting, and the simple joy of sitting down for a good cup. Coffee became a shared language, a pause between journeys, and often the most memorable moments of the day.

Slowly, an idea formed.

We realized that coffee could offer the same feeling as travel:
a way to slow down, connect cultures, and create moments that feel personal and real.

Opening Phin Coffee in Hoi An

After years of traveling and living in Hoi An, we decided to put everything we had learned into one place. Phin Coffee was born — inspired by our tourism background, our love for Vietnamese coffee, and our belief in genuine hospitality.

From the beginning, our goal was never to be just another café.
We wanted Phin to feel like a welcoming stop on a journey — a place where locals and travelers could feel at ease, enjoy quality coffee and food, and experience Hoi An at a slower, more thoughtful pace.

Growing Beyond the Cup

Over time, Phin Coffee grew into multiple spaces, each with its own character, but all guided by the same philosophy:

• and hospitality that feels natural, not scripted

That same mindset led us to create Phin Experiences — bike tours, food walks, and Coffee Classes— designed the way we once guided our guests on the road: small groups, local insight, and meaningful moments.

Where We Are Today

Today, Phin Coffee Hoi An is the result of a long journey — from leading tours across Indochina to welcoming guests into our own spaces. Every cup we serve, every dish we prepare, and every tour we host is influenced by the people we met, the places we traveled, and the stories we shared along the way.
